Guests and ordering.
What is Tap2Order?
An NFC and QR tap-to-order system for bars, cafés, restaurants and other venues. Guests tap or scan a table display, order in their phone browser, and the order arrives in a staff portal that runs on devices you already own. New to the idea? Read "What is tap to order?"
Do guests need to download an app or create an account?
No. The menu opens in the phone browser, with no app download and no guest account.
Which phones work?
Any phone that can scan a QR code. For tapping, Apple says iPhone XS and later read NFC tags in the background, and Android phones with NFC read tags when unlocked with NFC on. Every display carries both; see NFC vs QR code ordering.
What if a guest can't or won't use their phone?
Your staff take the order as usual. Tap2Order adds a way to order; it doesn't remove the one you have.
Can guests customize their orders?
Yes, and every modifier arrives written out. For allergies, staff confirm with the guest directly; see the order accuracy guide.
How do guests pay?
Through your venue's payment processor at that processor's standard rates, set up with you during onboarding.
Staff portal and devices.
What is the staff portal, and what do I need to run it?
A progressive web app your team opens on any desktop, laptop, tablet or phone: live orders on a kitchen and bar view, menu management and a sales dashboard. No terminals to buy, no tablets to lease; the printed NFC and QR displays are included. More in the guide for staff.
Do I have to replace my POS?
No. Tap2Order runs next to your POS. Custom integrations are part of Pro Command, which also sends daily sales, tax and tips to your books.
Can I change the menu during service?
Yes. Update items and availability any time, and every display's menu shows the change.
Can I check sales when I'm not at the venue?
Yes. Owners and managers open the portal from anywhere to see what's selling and when it's busy. Growth Engine adds a weekly owner report; Pro Command a daily one.
What is the Algorithm?
Kitchen pacing, on Growth Engine and above. It fires each dish by its prep time so a table's food lands together, shows guests an honest wait, and slows new orders automatically when the kitchen is maxed. On Essential Core, orders appear in the order they arrive.
What support is included?
Email on Essential Core, priority email on Growth Engine, and priority phone support with dedicated onboarding on Pro Command.
Setup and the 7-day guarantee.
What is included in setup?
For NYC venues on every plan: an onboarding call about your menu, tables, service style and handoff; in-person setup by a uniformed Tap2Order team member who programs and places the printed displays and gives a quick demo; staff training on the portal; and a designer-made table display and poster you keep.
How quickly can we go live?
Live within 7 days of your onboarding call, once we have your menu and venue details. If we miss it, your next month is free. The clock starts at the onboarding call, not at purchase, and the guarantee applies to NYC venues.
Is the demo a real venue?
No. The interactive demo is a sample venue for trying the guest and staff flow, not a live customer.
Pricing, contract and cancellation.
How much does Tap2Order cost?
Essential Core is $297/month and takes every order. Growth Engine, $597/month (Recommended), sells more per guest and stops money going in the bin. Pro Command, $997/month, runs up to 5 locations on numbers. Group HQ, for 6 or more locations or a franchise, is custom: book a call. Details are on the pricing page.
Is there a setup fee?
$599, waived for every customer who signs by December 31, 2026. It is waived, not deleted: cancel during the first quarter and the $599 becomes payable, together with the remaining monthly fees of that quarter.
Do you take a commission on orders?
No. A flat monthly fee with no per-order commission. Card processing fees come from your own processor.
Is there a contract, and how do I cancel?
Yes. Billed monthly, a 3-month initial term, then quarter to quarter. Cancel with 30 days' notice before the end of a quarter; no fee after the first quarter. To cancel, use the online cancellation page, email Support@TapToOrder.co, or call or text (302) 463-0442. We confirm every cancellation in writing.
Is there an annual plan?
Yes, optional annual prepay with 2 months free: Core $2,970/yr, Growth $5,970/yr, Pro $9,970/yr.
Is sales tax charged?
Tap2Order subscriptions may be subject to New York sales tax on software. Tax on guest orders is the venue's.
